RUSSIAN BALLET INTENSIVE
Russian Ballet Intensive (RBI) is a 3-week course with intense ballet training in the Vaganova method classical ballet along with other dance styles to provide students with the most diverse education and experience. It is held at the at the Voronezh State Academy of Ballet in the city of Voronezh, a large city located just south of central Russia.
Each day consists of up to 5 hours of dance training in Classical Ballet Technique, Ballet Repertoire, Pas de Deux, Character Dance as well as Contemporary Dance, Historical Dance and Floor Barre exercise and Conditioning.
RBI is taught by only the finest Russian ballet teachers that treasure preserving the excellence of Russian ballet, that established itself as one of the most beautiful and technical styles in the history of dance.
On weekends, students will have the opportunity to visit the city of Moscow, see a performance at the Bolshoi Ballet Theater, tour the Red Square, spend a day on the Voronezh River, and spend time getting acquainted with Russian culture by spending time with students of the Voronezh State Academy.
When Is It?
Exact dates have not been set yet. Intensive will be 3 weeks in June-July. Classes will run Monday – Friday 9:30-4:00, and Saturday 9:30-11:30. There are no classes on Sundays. Recommended departure date is 2 days before classes begin. Students may choose to stay longer to visit Moscow and St. Petersburg for an additional cost. Parents are welcome and may stay at the same hotel.
How Much Does It Cost?
$2800 (Temecula Ballet students receive a $100 credit)

How Do I Apply?
Admission to RBI is by audition only. Ages 13+. (Levels III+ for Temecula Ballet students) There is no age maximum; adults are encouraged to attend. Auditions may be scheduled for in person or submitted by email. Cost is $30. Videos submitted by email should run fewer than seven minutes and begin with a student introduction (name, age and where they currently train). Female students should include short barre and centre work including adagio, pirouettes en dehors and en dedans, petit allegro, grand allegro and pointe work. Male students should include tour en l’air, single or double depending on age and level, and allegro that includes beats and grande pirouettes. A photo of arabesque is also required along with a complete audition form and payment of $30. Deadline is April 1. Audition fee is waived for Temecula Ballet students.

Where Will We Stay?
The Russian (Voronezh) Summer Ballet Intensive (RBI) will house its students and chaperones at a boutique hotel called the Bronze Boar. The hotel is less than a mile walk to the school where classes will be. Our professional chef and nutritionist provide healthy meals and snacks for students in our cafeteria. Special attention is given to students with allergies. All students will have insurance and emergency medical coverage while in Russia. Facilities provide a full range of doctors available at an affordable additional cost.
